Second treatment down

It was a really long day as they took forever for labs results to come back from my blood work. They came back great. Chemo was a go..We were there from 8:30-3:00. because they run more meds this time, before the chemo started

But thank goodness they did... this one seems to really be going so much better.
Praying because I went into this one feeling 100% healthier then I have in years that
I am going to have a really better time then the first.

Of course I am on the first day after but I can tell a big difference. They added a couple things before they started chemo this time that they hadn't last time One of them being Emend, and I have no nausea at all...Yay!!
I cost my poor Sister Sandi a fortune in food and drinks thru the whole thing. lol

Came home and still eating like a pig..drinking well in between sleeping for hours from the meds
Hopefully today when I go back for the shot to boost my white blood count I don't have to stay hours for IV's again. Don't see why I should.

I hope it continues to go so well. My poor Mom and sister were running ragged trying to take care of me last time when I was here at Moms for almost a week.
They both were exhausted. So hopefully this time will be better on them too.

I am very shaky and not feeling "right" My eyes are bugging out...lol ..But so much better then how sick I was the first treatment.

I do have to go back next Tues for IV fluids.
My oncologist felt it would be best to do after all the problems I had last time.

Please continue to think good thoughts and prayers that I keep doing as well over the next few days .
I am so blessed

Here is a pic Sandi took during treatment...you cant see half the food sitting around. It was funny how much I and drank ate.
Going to keep that up...120 pounds...here I come ~

  3. Debbi,
I am so glad things are going better this time around. AND that you have a good appetite. Hopefully the first infusion was the worst. Allow for more fatigue, as I think that is inevitable. But hopefully the nausea is mostly behind you.

I love the pink scarf. It looks beautiful on you.

Hang in there. We gals are stronger than we think we push comes to shove.

    Huge hugs,
Your BC buddy from the West Coast,
    Debbie

  5. It makes the world of difference once you can figure out your anti-nausea cocktail!

You look great! Keep plugging along. I restart my chemo on Monday after about a month and half hiatus. So, I am nervous to see how my body reacts.

Your courage and attitude is awesome! Keep it up!

  6. I think your scarf looks wonderful on you. Your hair will come back in and be just as beautiful as before. Although chemo may not be the funnest of days, it surely could be worse, right? This triple negative stuff is mean, so we must be even meaner - you remember that. Talk to your body everyday and tell that TNBC to leave. You keep on hanging in there and let the other green meany (chemo) do its job and make you better. We are all out here praying for you. Sending a big hug to you....

  7. Thank you all so much for the wonderful comments . I am not doing as well last night or this morning. BUT so far it is still better then the first treatment. Yep we are all fighters and we WILL make it thru this.

  8. Hi, Debbi -

Sorry to hear that your first treatment was so rough. I hope this second round is going a little better for you. You look GREAT in your scarf! Cansirboi is right on about finding the right anti-nausea cocktail.

For me, my nausea feels more like massive heartburn. I take a Prilosec OTC every single day. If I skip a day or two, I feel lousy. And the steroid that you take the day before, day of and day after chemo is a "must" for me. Good luck - I will check in with you again. I have Round 4 coming up this week.

  13. Emend is a wonder drug! It made a big difference for me too. You'll still feel lousy, but hopefully the nuasea won't be as bad. Just rest and take it easy. Get out for some slow easy walks if you can. And keep drinking that water!
God is with you--right by your side! :)

  25. Hello, my name is Ari, I am a survivor (so far...) of two cancers, a widower of a cancer victim (now re-married..) and is dedicated to fighting cancer, and helping others do so.
I lived in Toronto, Canada (my family is in southern California), and last year, after marriage, I moved to the Philippines. I am majority owner of a Dialysis clinic, and built a unique cancer clinic, the one I dreamt of having when my first wife was struggling. I took her to Mexico clinics twice, for treatments (which were very successful!), talked to dozens of physicians, and always found lack of properly equipped clinics, which could do a lot better if they were.
Along the way, I have gained insight of how proper Hyperthermia should be applied. This is a method which doubles the success rate of conventional therapies, and alternative ones as well, provided it is done properly. I have purchased the most powerful device for this, and added two other types of devices, which when applied in the right order, prevent a process of DE-sensitizing of cancer cells to the effects of specific frequency hyperthermia. We also do mild whole body hyperthermia in order to strengthen the immune system (with no side effects),and help reach the right thermo-therapeutic levels within the tumour.(the right temperature simply destroys the tumour...). There are also other aspects to this, biological ones, which for lack of commercial incentive (UN-patentable..) is not pursued by multinational pharmaceutical corporations which control all medical research in the field.
I also introduced other forms of immunotherapy, and alternative cytotoxic elements, such as Helixor, a mistletoe extract, which has three times better success rate then most chemo agents, without the side effects.
I can give information about many clinics I learned about, (mainly in Mexico ang Germany)

  26. I love your sprite Debbi for fighting against breast cancer. I have seen some specialism of you that you do not think anything more on breast cancer. You don't care that it can harm or not. But this is really exceptional for your waiting with joy in hospital for the result anf to eating, sleeping and everything coming back at home. .....
